I just wanted to wish a heartfelt Dad's Day to all you Dad's to be, Dad's, Grandpa's, Dad's to Dogs or Cats or other animals (someone needs to feed them kibble).
I wish I could go spend the day with my Dad today, but alas, I have to work in the studio, it's my Sunday. I think back often of all the big and little things my Dad has done for me in my short life, the impact he has had, the memories he has given me and made with me. I was four and he did not fuss a bit when I ventured into his camera bag...and I am now a photographer. When we went to Busch Gardens and I was scared to death to ride the Loch Ness Monster...because ot the upside down loops, he said to close my eyes in the loop and he'd tell me when we were through it, much to my surprise he had me open them in the middle of the loop! When I got stuck in the potty chair, he left me there bawling, and got the camera to document it. When it was time for me to go to Appalachian, we packed err loaded his Chevy S-10 up with all my stuff, wrapped the bed in plastic and made the trek up the mountain (never mind we kind of looked like the Beverly Hill Billy's). I have run out of gas, he has brought me fuel. He looks at my tires, even now and says they need to be rotated or replaced. He helps me with my son. He taught me that age is merely a number, but to live each day to the fullest. He is my Dad, and I am thankful for him...and he is amazing.
Happy Dad's Day Daddy!!!
Enjoy your day guys, if it is parking it with a cold one in front of the ball game or race, sleeping in the hammock with the paper, playing outside with your kids...whatever makes your Dad's Day special...do it. And for you kids, go see your Dad and show him that you do appreciate him..if he's too far away...call him.
