Can someone please enlighten me...

As to why young athletes are dying?

We had yet another incident of this here in the area this week. Not only is it shocking but it is tragic. Chapel Hill High School Senior Offensive Guard Atlas Fraley passed away after practice on August 12. He went home after practice, called 911, they sent a unit out and was later found dead.

Fraley was widely recruited by many schools, and possibly had potential to play on the college level.

My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends for their loss.

His passing raised some questions in my mind, why is this happening. He was only 17. This seems to happen more and more. My questions are, in this day and age of competition in the high school arena increasing are the practices too intensive for these youngsters? Are the medical screenings not sufficient? Is it because we have access to the news 24/7 we are hearing about it more and more now? Or is it something else?
